popular Contemporary design components

It might help to know that the Contemporary design we see today was born in the 20th century inspired by art and design movements like Post-modernism, Art Deco, De-constructivism, and Futurism. What distinguishes Contemporary designs from other design styles is the use of softened corners, natural shapes, and earth tone colors.

kitchens

Contemporary kitchen designs can include materials such as matted quartz and matted marble counter tops. Flooring is typically a type of matted earth tone or wood. It is common to see whites, greys, blacks, and navy blues on cabinetry and woodwork. Herringbone tile patterns are a nice touch for backsplashes in Contemporary kitchens.

Bathrooms

Bathroom vanities typically incorporate large mirrors on the wall with geodesic light fixtures and matted quartz or marble sinks. Moving on to the shower area, contemporary style bathrooms typically have stand in tubs or large shower niches. Shower areas typically encased in a frameless glass wall. Tiles inside the shower area are usually greys, blacks or brown tone with accent tiles for a bit of contrast.

Our projects

You've seen the projects we've done for our clients around the Bay Area who wanted to go with a Contemporary inspired living space. If you like any of the projects you see and would like to incorporate something you saw into your home, we'd love to work with you on that.
